About nicole

 I grew up just outside of Fort St. John, BC, and have been on horseback since the age of three. From gymkhanas and rodeos to jumping and barrel racing, I’ve always had a passion for learning and working with all kinds of horses—minis, mules, drafts, and everything in between!

Without access to clinics growing up, I relied on books, hands-on experience, and a deep curiosity about how horses as well as humans think and move. This led me to become a certified farrier in 2004, compete in a fitness competition in 2006, and later explore cross-country eventing. From a young age I have been committed  to working with a horse’s nature, and in 2018, I earned my Master’s in Reiki.

In 2002 I started trimming horses hooves, went to school in 2004, and founded Malik Farrier Services and Colt Starting named after one of my Arabian geldings. I rebranded to  Authentic Equine in 2019.  I love helping others develop better partnerships with their horses through fitness, conditioning, and a deeper understanding of how the mind, body, and energy connection influences both horse and rider.
